Case Study

Vanax

Client Overview

Vanax is a specialist supplier of van accessories and vehicle equipment, offering an extensive catalogue of products for a wide range of manufacturers and models.

Their existing ecommerce platform had become outdated both visually and technically, making it difficult for customers to find relevant products quickly. The site also relied on manual administrative processes that consumed unnecessary time internally.

Vanax required a modern ecommerce solution capable of handling a large and complex product range while improving usability, streamlining operations and delivering a significantly faster and more professional customer experience.

Objectives & Opportunities

Objectives & Opportunities

The project focused on replacing the ageing site with an up-to-date Zen Cart solution designed around usability, performance and automation.

A key opportunity was improving product discovery for customers navigating a vast inventory with multiple compatibility variations. Simplifying the buying journey through intuitive filtering and guided product selection was essential.

Internally, there was also an opportunity to remove repetitive manual tasks that slowed down order processing. Automating VAT invoice generation and delivery would save time, reduce administrative overhead and improve the customer experience immediately after purchase.

Discovery & Insights

Discovery & Insights

During the discovery phase we identified that the biggest barrier to conversion was the difficulty users faced when locating products suitable for their specific vehicle. The existing search and navigation experience lacked structure, forcing customers to manually browse large product categories.

We also uncovered inefficiencies in the order management workflow, particularly around invoice creation, which required manual processing for every order. These insights highlighted the need for both customer-facing improvements and back-office automation to reduce friction, improve efficiency and create a more scalable ecommerce platform.

Solution Strategy & Delivery

Solution Strategy & Delivery

We designed and developed a completely new Zen Cart website, with a strong focus on speed, usability and scalability.

Advanced search and filtering functionality was implemented to help users quickly narrow down products using intuitive step-by-step vehicle selection based on manufacturer, model and year. This dramatically simplified navigation across the extensive product catalogue.

On the operational side, we automated VAT invoice generation so invoices are instantly created upon order placement and automatically attached to confirmation emails.

The new platform also delivered substantial front-end performance improvements and a fully modernised visual design.

Results & Impact

Results & Impact

The new Vanax website transformed both the customer experience and internal workflows. Visitors can now locate compatible products far more quickly through intelligent filtering and guided vehicle selection, reducing friction and improving usability across the site. The modern design and faster performance created a significantly more professional and engaging ecommerce experience.

Internally, automating VAT invoice generation eliminated a repetitive manual task, saving time on every order and reducing administrative overhead. The project demonstrates how combining user-focused design with process automation can improve efficiency, scalability and overall ecommerce performance.
